Types of Corporate Event Videos to Effortlessly Improve Your Events

“Throwing a corporate event is hard work. There’s tons of planning, from wrangling speaking guests to booking the proper venue, catering and promoting, it can seem like an endless list of miracles need to be pulled off to be successful.”

Often, a photographer may be on that list of scheduling miracles, but to get the most value out of the event and engage with people after the event is over, corporate event videos are required. Event videos can capture the attention of your attendees, relay important information to those that are unable to attend, highlight important topics and moments of the event, increase attendance and really allow your event to live on long after the last presentation is made.

Here are some types of videos you can have produced for your event, broken out by event phase:

Before the Event

Promo videos are a tool to generate hype and increase attendance pre-event. This is your teaser video to help you demonstrate the value of your event to your target audience to entice them to attend. Ideally, you could use footage from previous events to promote the one you’re planning, but if it’s a new event, there are some other options.

If you have a keynote speaker, do an interview ahead of time and have them talk about the topics they are going to cover in their speech. Or, have the organizer or spokesperson from their company talk about what’s happening at the event. Using video to let people know about the value of your event is a great way to get their attention and motivate them to show up. You can also create informational videos on things like how to register, how to travel to the venue, and other topics that are helpful, particularly for first-time attendees. It’s a much more exciting way to do the traditional ‘know before you go’ type email.

During the Event

Video can be a great way to create a more immersive experience. This could be in the form of something like a trade show display or introduction video for the keynote speaker.

Are you presenting awards at your show? Pre-record the contestant/winners introduction or even their acceptance speeches in order to keep things interesting and most importantly, moving on schedule.

If your event is more than one day, use video to highlight things that happened that day, then promote what’s taking place the next day.

Live Streaming is another super useful tool that benefits not only the day of, but after your event as well because you can save the livestream video and continue to share it. Even the most well-produced event can only accommodate so many in-person attendees. Live streaming increases the reach of your event to those who weren’t able to attend.

Post Event

The post-event video is the most important video and something every event can benefit from. It’s important because it allows your event to live on long after it has concluded. Your company just spent an incredible amount of time, effort, and money on an event that’s essentially a one time thing. Even if it’s the best produced event that ever was, when it’s over… it’s over. However, if you shoot video and do interviews during the event and use it to create a post-event video you can highlight all the great things that happened, and remind people of the key takeaways. You can share the post-event video via an email campaign, or send it out on social media and allow everyone who attended to share it with their friends and colleagues. It’s also a great way to retain interest from those that couldn’t attend as well as a source of promotional content for next year's event!

Video is Essential for Your Corporate Event

Video should be looked at as an absolute event necessity. Well produced videos can draw people to your event, keep them interested in the event, as well as give it a much longer shelf life. Why would anyone ever skip such an important event component?
