we love our community

We wanted to mix things up from our usual educational style blog this month and write about something that is very important to us. Community Involvement! Since the inception of Max Lux, we have prioritized being involved in our local community of North San Diego County.  Supporting the community and businesses of San Diego is a key part of our ethos. So we thought it’s about time that we share an update on some of the things we have been up to…

Encinitas Chamber of Commerce (https://encinitaschamber.com/)

Sean has been serving on the board of directors since last year and is the head of the Education & Networking committee.  This entails creating opportunities for business owners to share their expertise and learn from others, alongside events that enable networking.  He is also part of the Environmental/Sustainability committee.  The purpose of this committee is to help businesses share resources and highlight some of our members that excel in this area.

Rob is an ambassador for the Chamber.  This means that he reaches out to new members and welcomes them to the business community, while ensuring they are able to get the most out of their chamber membership.  He is also a regular volunteer at monthly mixers and events.

To top it off, we both donate our time and resources to produce the new Encinitas Chamber Chat Live podcast.  The multi-camera video podcast is recorded in our studio

Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce (https://carlsbad.org/)

For the second year in a row, we photographed the CBAD business awards.  Capturing the award winners, ambiance and the guests is a great time!  If you’ve never been, I highly recommend attending.  I find the event to be inspiring and informative.

Cause San Diego (https://www.causesandiego.org/)

Since last fall, Sean has been getting more involved with Cause San Diego.

“Cause San Diego is a social impact hub that sparks connections between for-profit businesses and the not for profit organizations that deal with the most urgent issues in our region. “Cause SD accelerates social change by helping businesses develop and implement social impact strategies while also improving collaboration between public and private sector organizations.”

Sean’s role at Cause San Diego has included capturing events using video and photo.  As well as volunteering his time to help feed people in need, collaborate on strategy for the organization and even some design work.

SD Media Pros (https://sdmediapros.org/)

Our local professional organization! We have a blast meeting and learning from others in the media industry.  From producers to stunt actors, SD Media Pros has it all.  We’ve especially enjoyed their workshops on Live-streaming and Action Cinematography.
